This historic small town which according to the county historian, it received the name Bucksnort; comes from a one-time merchant who sold a 'snort' of moonshine for a dollar (buck).

The winery is located in the heart of middle Tennessee, in the rolling countryside of Hickman County. Surrounded by 110 acres of trees and beautiful vistas, the Chessor family nurtures a 7 acre vineyard on their family estate. As the heat swells here in Tennessee, I don’t think we’re alone in constantly looking for places to go and get out of the house while staying cool this summer. In this search for outdoor oases away from throngs of people that have the same idea, Hickman County shot to the top of our radar thanks to its positioning along the Natchez Trace, as well as its deep-rooted musical heritage and historic communities.
